Del Popolo's Pizza 'n Pitchers Tonight at American Grilled Cheese Kitchen

Hey pizza lovers, if you haven’t already witness the greatest of Jon Darsky’s most excellent engineering feat that is the Del Popolo truck or the pies coming of its 5,000-lb Stefano Ferrara glassed-in wood-fired brick oven, tonight’s the night. In a few hours, Darksy will commandeering the sunny patio outside SoMa’s American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, where he’ll be pulling up (as opposed to popping up) and teaming up with three local California brewers tonight to host the ultimate beer-and-pizza party.

Sadly, you won’t be able to get AGCK’s grilled cheese (they only stay open in the evenings during Giant’s home games), but you will be able to wash down those perfectly charred pies (the Margherita, Bianco and special one with mozzarella, braised rapini, spicy salami, red onion and chili oil) with a pint of beer from one of the Bay’s finest craft brewers-- San Francisco’s Pacific Brewing Laboratories, Oakland’s Linden Street Brewing and Paso Robles’ Firestone Walker Brewing Company.

Tonight’s powwow is a follow-up of sorts to the popular cocktails-and-cheese fests that were taking place at Bar Agricole last month. Darsky explains he who wanted to replicate the experience of giving customers a chance to “sit down and eat the pizza" and “enjoy some beer” at the same time.

Funny, sounds a lot like real dining.
