We can tell summer is winding down because news is starting to trickle out about all the restaurants gearing up to open in the fall. Today it's word from the Upper West Side, where Corvo Bianco is a little over a month away from opening on Columbus Avenue and 81st Street. The eatery will take over the space that used to house Calle Ocho and specialize in Northern Italian cuisine - while the focus will largely be on seafood, there will be plenty of pastas and antipastis to go around.
Drinkers will find a lot to like in the new joint, which is ideally located for a pre or post-Natural History Museum nip. There will be two bars and a happy hour will take place from 4 to 7 PM. A large skylight will create and "under-the-stars" feel - since you can't really smuggle booze into the Hayden Planetarium, this is the next best thing. Stay tuned for a September opening at 446 Columbus Ave and follow them online here (212-595-2624).
