Coming Soon: Lucky Boy Opening Second Pasadena Location

Some might argue that Lucky Boy, the small walk-up stand and diner next to the original Trader Joe's in Pasadena, has the best breakfast burrito in all of the land. The giant overstuffed beast filled with eggs, what seems like an entire slab of bacon, potatoes and cheese is pretty damn good, and easily feeds two if not more. Now we'll have a second location to find it: A shiny brand new Lucky Boy is set to open on Walnut Street, in the former Amy's Fast Food, later this month.

Lucky Boy is, of course, also known for its char-broiled burgers, sometimes covered in pastrami, always super greasy. Even the turkey burger is quite good. It's the best late-night spot in Pasadena. According to one of the owners, Tina Karagias, whose dad and uncle opened the first Lucky Boy in South Gate in 1971 (Arroyo Parkway opened in 1974), the new restaurant will feature the same menu, including the burritos, fried zucchini and cherry Coke. She expects it to open around July 26. Get a little look-see of the new Lucky Boy in the video below. It's located at 531 East Walnut Street.
