Matyson chef Ben Puchowitz and buddy Shawn Darragh have held three Cheu Noodle Bar pop-up dinners so far, and each one has been wildly successful. The next chance to taste the duo’s “inventive spins on classic noodle dishes” is coming up on August 5. Standouts on the á la carte menu are cheeseburger steamed buns with miso truffle sauce; noodles with lamb neck, black garlic and pickled mustard greens; and pork belly ramen. Beer and sake will also be sold.
This time around, the Asian-themed meal will go down at Mémé, and since there are only 40 seats in David Katz’ Spruce Street dining room, reservations are required. Lines open tomorrow, July 28, at noon, and will likely sell out quickly, so if you’ve a hankering for savory broth, follow the pair’s advice and set your alarm so you can be sure to score a spot (215-287-2533).
