Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Lukshon's Chicken Pops

The chicken pops at Lukshon are just so good. We haven't had them in awhile, probably since the restaurant opened, but were happy that Sang Yoon included the spicy, salty drumsticks at last night's launch party for the Luckyrice Festival, which debuts in Los Angeles on August 4. Yoon is the host chef, so he threw a little (big) shindig at his Helms Bakery restaurant to give us an idea of what we might see later this summer. Think: Asian-inspired gin cocktails, a great reisling, maybe his schmaltz-laden Hunan rice. Other chefs joining him for the festival include Mohan Ismail (Rocksugar), Ontario's Susur Lee (Lee), Bryant Ng (The Spice Table) and Kris Yenbamroong (Night + Market), who proclaimed those pops are "the real deal." Indeed they are.
