| Et Voila's Mussels |
Belgium’s National Day, celebrating its independence from the Netherlands (in 1830), happens on July 21, a few days after Bastille Day festivities. But DC’s Belgian chefs and restaurateurs are not about to allow their heritage of freedom and frites (and mussels and beer) to be overshadowed by the French.
Voila - Belgian Restaurant Week, running from July 14-21, features beer dinners, celebratory cocktails, food and drink specials, and art exhibitions, all culminating in a "Mussel Throw-down" at Capital Yards Park on the 21st.
The following restaurants plan to participate:
Belga Café,
Brabo, Brasserie Beck,
Et Voila,
Granville Moore’s,
Locolat,
Le Pain Quotidien,
Marcel’s and
Mussel Bar. Check out our slideshow of some of the week’s highlights after the jump, and get more info
