Frontier has added whole smoked alligator to its menu of "whole smoked animals" which currently includes, pig, lamb, goat and wild boar. Starting at $575, (based on market price), chef Brian Jupiter smokes your gator for five to six hours and stuffs it with whole chickens. Yes, you read that correctly.
But what sides to pair with this massive smoky beast? Caesar salad of course! Also included in the price is a first course featuring a salad with romaine, herb polenta croutons, cracked black pepper and asiago dressing, and sides including cornbread, duck and andouille sausage jambalaya and succotash. According to chef Jupiter, if you've never had alligator before, expect it to taste kind of like poultry (especially given the whole chickens stuffed inside). A five-day pre-order is required, and parties of 12 or more may be subject to additional charges. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 312-453-9397 to reserve.
