What's Cooking at the New Sunset Strip Evening Farmers Market

The Sunset Strip: Rock and roll, nightclubs ... farmers market? Tomorrow (June 14) the first ever Sunset Strip farmers market and all-around party debuts in the parking lot across from Eveleigh. All the requisite vendors will be there - farmers with organic produce, food artisans, oyster shuckers, rotisserie chicken, tamales - plus live cooking demos and dishes served by West Hollywood chefs who pluck ingredients right from the market.

First up is Jordan Toft, executive chef at Eveleigh. Look for him in the cooking pavilion, right next to the beer garden. Yes, there will be beer and wine for sale; this week it's Golden Road Brewing and Hess. On June 21 RH Restaurant executive chef Jorge Chicas takes to the stoves, and Robert Liberato from BLT Steak on June 28. Other highlights: A Veggie Valet, where you can leave your bags to walk around; bocce ball and board games; and live music. This is the Strip, after all.

The Sunset Strip Market takes place every Thursday at 8755 Sunset Boulevard from 5 to 9 PM.
