| Just another night at Bottega Louie |
The Los Angeles Times takes note of how loud restaurants are these days, which you, dear Zagat readers, already know: Eighteen percent of you list noise as your number one complaint. Why is it so out of hand? Design, for one, and the lack of soft surfaces. Add in louder music, open kitchens and communal tables, and the cacophonous din can downright ruin a meal. While you might not hear a thing when you're dining in their restaurants, restaurateurs have definitely heard you. More owners are making the move to quiet things down by adding cork paneling or grass patches (a la Mendocino Farms) for sound absorption, or simply designing things better from the get go.
But since this is such a big complaint for so many, we'd love to know which restaurants you think are the noisiest in LA. Bottega Louie? Umamicatessen? Osteria Mozza? Please tell us in comments - they may just hear you. [LAT]
