We had the best of tots, we had the worst of tots. But there is really no such thing as a truly bad tater tot - it’s kinda hard to mess up deep-fried potatoes. Tater tots seem to be popping up on menus around the city, from haute Chinese kitchen
Wong to cantina-within-a-movie-theater
Nitehawk, and we felt the need to try them all and then pit them against one another, smackdown-style. Are there any favorites that we missed? Share them in the comments.
“Like a mullet. A party on the outside and business on the inside.”
ReplyDeleteGreat list, looking forward to a few taste tests of my own. Passed it along here: http://seektobemerry.blogspot.com/2012/06/hump-day-distractions_20.html
ReplyDeleteTry the Barrow Street Ale House, awesome tots. I'm sure they're right out of the bag too, but they aren't (too) greasy and they're always piping hot with the perfect amount of salt and crunchiness outside, and soft and flaky inside. It's honestly pretty much the only reason I go there.
ReplyDeletehow could you forget 5 Napkin Burger's Tater Tots? They are one of my favorite dishes over there. I instantly feel like a kid again everytime i bite into those bite size crispy pieces of heaven. it's a must add!
ReplyDeleteagreed - i think their tots are the best in the city!
