| Shaun Hergatt, grabbin' a drink with us. |
A while back, we went for a few drinks with
Shaun Hergatt, whose stellar reputation with foodies never really translated to the highest levels of critical success for his restaurant
SHO, which was in an awkward Financial District location. The chef, who is clearly driven by talent and ambition, mentioned that he was pondering a restaurant in Midtown. Well,
Diner's Journal has word that the he is ready to make the move - he is leaving the FiDi restaurant by the end of July and will open a restaurant (with the same name) with new partners. The owners of the Downtown eatery plan to bring in a new chef and launch a new concept once Hergatt leaves, and by all accounts the split was amicable. We're surely forward to seeing where Hergatt lands, and not just because the chef can do
some amazing things to Lunchables.
