Robertas Reveals Blanca Restaurant With Crazy-Expensive Tasting Menu

Today's the day for big news in the NYC restaurant world. ABC Kitchen is expanding, Franklin Becker is leaving his post, and now the NY Times has word that beloved Brooklyn gem Robertas has opened a new restaurant dubbed Blanca, which will seat 12 and serve a $180 tasting menu which includes over 20 courses but no drinks. Well, that was unexpected. Of course former critic Sam Sifton broke the piece (say it with us now, "one of the more extraordinary restaurants in the United States"). They apparently managed to keep this quiet by sneaking people into the new space, which is located behind the restaurant, when they showed up for their normal tasting menu reservation. Those folks got a pretty sweet deal. To get more info on the new digs and the reservations policy, check out the website here.
