Public/Saxon + Parole Team Eyeing West Village Space

Breaking! The folks over at AvroKO, the hospitality team behind Manhattan eateries Public and Saxon + Parole, are eyeing a space at 615 Hudson Street (fka Sungchumei) in the West Village, the same space once rumored to be sought after by ex-Craft chef, Damon Wise. A letter from AvroKO partner Dan Rafalin is being posted on neighboring doorsteps seeking support from nearby residents as the team prepares to go before the Community Board next Thursday for liquor license approval.

The letter describes the menu as: "American grill fare using international flavors with unexpected culinary twists. We plan on being open for lunch and dinner including brunch on the weekends." Given the trouble neighbors gave Stephen Starr with the Paris Commune space, looks like the AvroKO team is taking every precatuion to ensure the support of the neighborhood is intact: "I'd love to connect with you before and hear any comments or concerns you might have and introduce myself in person," Rafalin writes.
