We first
heard about Holly Riccardi’s plans for pie-centric
Magpie at 1622 South Street in February, and things are coming along well for the ad-exec-turned-baker. Plans call for a late July launch for the 20-seat lunch and dinner cafe, and the opening menu is full of summery choices. Look for tropical mango-vanilla-rum, southern-style blackberry-bourbon and refreshing lime-basil, all served with a side of fresh whipped cream.
More than just a dessert stop, the savory side of things will bring options like perfectly in-season corn-tomato-basil or ham and leek with grainy mustard sauce. After seeing these pics, we’re almost wishing Riccardi would wait until after bikini season for her debut.
