Summer is a great time for a lot of things - strawberries, tanning and outdoor eating to name a few -but it's also the season for drinking. Have a glass of water handy, because three new bars are opening to make summer a bit more interesting.

Black Bull
Start with a Mexican beer at this new tapas bar now open in Wicker Park. Opened by the group behind Barn & Company, Hubbard Inn and English, this eclectic space offers traditional dishes such as patatas bravas, gazpacho and Spanish tortilla as well as wine and cocktails.

Whiskey and video games, together at last. At this bar, opening later this week pending a liquor license, over two dozen retro video games (all of the classics including Ms. Pac-Man, NBA Jam and Space Invaders) line the walls, while a central bar provides liquid entertainment.

The Rosebud family will welcome its newest addition, this rustic Italian wine bar, on the 27th. Highlights of the menu include braised rabbit, cap steak with bone marrow, goat cheese gnocchi and, of course, an extensive wine list.
