Leave it to the uber-seasonal
AQ Restaurant and Bar to remind us that today is the first day of summer. Sure, some restaurants celebrate the arrival of summer by adding a chilled soup or fresh tomato and watermelon salad to the menu. But at AQ, everything from the waiters' duds to the stemware to the whole dang decor (including the plaque on the ground) swaps out seasonally. The room sports a new look (expect an East-Coasts-meets-West-Coast vibe) while the staff's preppy new look features chambray and checked-blue shirts. Chef Mark Liberman has also launched new summer
dinner and
brunch menus, while many of bar manager Tim Zohn's latest
drink concoctions are served in Mason jars and julep cups (415-341-9000).
