We consider it a bonus there is no universally accepted “Philadelphia-style” pizza - the lack of a formal definition opens the door for pies of all shapes, sizes and kinds. Our list of the best pizza in Philly, as voted by you in our survey, covers just about all the bases, from old-school, sauce-heavy favorites to quick-blistered, ethereal Neapolitan rounds.   1. Osteria-#1?!?!? Are you kidding me? Just because it's a Marc Vetri restaurant doesn't automatically mean it's the best. I've had Osterias's pizza and,while it's good,it's certainly not the best in Philly. I think some folks are swayed just because of the "celebrity chef" name; others don't know what a real neighborhood pizza is supposed to taste like.

  5. i love osteria-- flavorful and sophisticated.. has it's merits simply because of that-- add in the fact that they are done well and BRAVO !
