If you're anything like us, you've been spending the last three or so hours gazing out the window of your office dreaming of what you're going to do this weekend. Well, to distract ourselves from all that staring, we put together a few suggestions that may strike your fancy (and help you beat the heat). Get plannin':
Infused Pisco at Raymi
Richard Sandoval opened his newest restaurant Raymi in the Flatiron District yesterday, and the eatery has a pisco-based bar program that is not to be missed. When you look behind the stylish bar, you'll see large jars full of house-infused varieties of the Peruvian spirit. This is the only bar in NYC that we know of doing infused piscos, and its likely on of the only watering holes anywhere to infuse the spirit with flavors like purple corn and eucalyptus. Pair that with some of the delicious ceviche coming from the ceviche bar and you'll feel at least 20 degrees cooler (with each subsequent infusion lowering you another 10 degrees). Get more info on the restaurant here (43 West 24th St.; 212-929-1200).
Le Brunch at Bagatelle
Bagatelle has returned to the Meatpacking District, and you know what that means - Champagne brunch! The party, which evokes St. Tropez with its glasses of rose and DJs, will rage on Saturdays and Sundays until 6 PM. Nothing like drinking the day away to beat the miserable heat (1 Little West 12th St.; 212-255-9717).
Salty Pimp from Big Gay Ice Cream
Uggggghhhh, still feelin' too hot? Two words: ice cream. When we are feeling the pain and getting all sweaty, our favorite treat is a Salty Pimp from the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. This combo of vanilla, chocolate dip and sea salt really hits the spot. Better yet, it's gay pride this weekend - so this sounds like a fitting way to celebrate.
