New Brunch, Longer Lunch and "Nooners" in the South Bay

Brunch Bibimbap at Abigaile
In addition to its already wildly popular weekend brunch, MB Post recently added a "nooner" menu - a smattering of small plates like the buttermilk bacon biscuits, pomegranate couscous and a selection of charcuterie and cheeses from 2 PM to 5 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The same menu is also now available on Fridays from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Oh, and in case you want to know where chef and owner David LeFevre likes to eat, drink and shop around LA, check out his picks in GQ (1142 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach; 310-545-5405).

Also in Manhattan Beach, the ever-popular Rock'N Fish has extended its lunch hours for the summer, from 11:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. That means more blackened fish tacos, French dips, blue cheese burgers and megasalads for all (120 Manhattan Beach Blvd.; 310-379-9900).

Abigaile, one of the hottest new spots in the South Bay, begins oceanview brunch service this Sunday (10 AM to 2 PM). What to expect: fried chicken and waffles with maple syrup and pistachio honey butter; apple-cinnamon beignets with butterscotch; huevos ranchero con chilaquiles with housemade chorizo; and Korean beef, shiitake and asparagus bibimbap (1301 Manhattan Ave., Hermosa Beach; 310-798-8227).
