new project from Murray's Cheese. The fromage slinger is taking over the former Barique space on Bleecker Street, and we have word that they are gearing up to open as early as next week (mid June is the official word). The new digs will be heavy on the wine and beer service, and they've snagged Christopher Melly from Resto and The Cannibal, where he impressed with his expansive knowledge of the hundreds of beers that they sold in house, to come on as manager and beverage director. The haunt will be at 264 Bleecker Street, stay tuned.
CORRECTION: Deena Siegelbaum from Murrays Cheese called with a correction. Although Melly was in talks to come aboard, he is not currently associated with the project. She also points out that while they will be opening "soon", next week is a little too optimistic.
