Santa Monica's Tar & Roses
Monday
Tar & Roses - one of our Top 10 Hot New Restaurants - adds another night of dinner service, beginning tonight (June 18). That means you can now get that roast chicken and all of those wonderful wood-fired dishes seven nights a week (602 Santa Monica Blvd.; 310-587-0700).

Tuesday
Sip new cocktails and other boozy concoctions at Ford's Filling Station every Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM. A different spirit is featured every week, and all cocktails are made with seasonal ingredients, which complements the food menu quite nicely. This week it's all about Moonshine Whiskey milkshakes ($6), tacos and "Hillbilly Olympics" bar games. There's also live jazz and blues music (9531 Culver Blvd.; 310-202-1470).

Wednesday
Top Chef contestants Richard Blais and Fabio Viviani square off in a Quickfire challenge for your entertainment at Hollywood & Highland. Top Chef: The Tour takes place at 10:30 AM, noon and 1:30 PM, right on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Dolby Theatre. It's free, and seats are open on a first come, first serve basis. On Thursday (June 21), Blais takes on Hector Santiago, same place, same times (6801 Hollywood Blvd.)

Thursday
Taste four of Firestone's anniversary ales at Sunset Beer Company at the weekly vertical tasting from 6 to 10 PM. The flight ($40) features Firestone 11-14, most of which aren't even available anymore. There will also be some other special Firestone beers on tap, and a food truck outside for sustenance (1498 W. Sunset Blvd.; 213-481-2337).

Friday
Nancy Silverton and Matt Molina do a cooking demo and will sign The Mozza Cookbook at the Beverly Hills Williams-Sonoma (2 PM). You have to buy the book there for the signing, and expect some snacking to happen (339 N. Beverly Dr.; 310-274-9127).

Saturday
Susan Feniger hosts the third annual Taste of the Grove, a day of panels and cooking demos from the chefs at Feniger's Street, BLD and Drago Centro. Feniger will sign her new cookbook, STREET Food, at Barnes and Noble from 6 to 7 PM. Tickets are $1, and you simply pick them up at the entrance to the event (189 The Grove Dr.; 323-900-8080).

Sunday
Get your East Coast fix at the lobster and clam bake dinner at Tavern from 3 to 9 PM. On the menu: New England clam chowder; little gem lettuces with tomatoes; Maine lobster with boiled potatoes, stuffed quahogs and grilled corn on the cob; and cornmeal cobbler with blueberries and buttermilk ice cream. Cost is $65 per person. Make reservations by calling 310-806-6464 (11648 W. San Vicente Blvd.).
