Jason Neroni's Superba Snack Bar Opening This July

Jason Neroni gave media and bloggers a sneak peek at his forthcoming Superba Snack Bar last week, and now announced that the new pastaria will officially debut next month. He's partnered with Paul Hibler, owner of Pitfire Pizza, who says Superba will simply have "honest food" - California ingredients with a strong Italian influence. Cheeses and produce will be locally sourced, charcuterie made in-house, and pastas hand-rolled and twisted into unique shapes and textures. Expect salads, sandwiches, eggs and snacks, as the name suggests, for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

The Venice restaurant features an open kitchen, bar area, and communal tables (natch). Pool tiles, ponchos from the boardwalk, and camping lanters add to the funky aesthetic. Look for a late July opening. It's located at 533 Rose Ave.
