Before we close up our bbq coverage this week, we have to strike a match for one of the the area's best 'cue pick-up spots. Every Saturday afternoon (9 AM to 6:30 PM), the Handy Market in Burbank sets up giant rigs to grill beef and baby back ribs, chicken, terrific tri-tip, sauage, turkey legs and corn over mesquite. Most is sold by the pound, and it's a great bargain for what you get. Anyone within an half-mile radius can smell the smoke, and it takes an incredible amount of will power not to stop. If you get there too late and the fire is out, head inside to see what they have left - you'll most likely find a saucy tri-tip sandwich or two. And if the well is completely dry, pick up some ground beef or a steak from the excellent meat counter.
