Food Truck News: Heirloom LA's New Sibling, Flatiron Truck's Pop-Up

The Heirloom Truck at Silverlake Wine
Tonight at Silverlake Wine, Heirloom LA shows off its new little sibling: The Oaxacan Wagon, a taco (and more) cart complete with cooking station, lights, music and all sorts of bells and whistles. Chef Matt Poley and crew will be slinging halibut tacos with creme fraiche and Persian cucumbers; Jidori chicken mole; and smoked bbq short ribs with cippolini onions and green garlic. Look for the cart at various events, shops and bars throughout the summer. (2395 Glendale Blvd.; 323-662-9024)

On Sunday, June 10, Timothy Abell - the chef behind the popular market-to-wheels Flatiron Truck - debuts The Other Door Dining Society, his new pop-up restaurant at the Other Door in North Hollywood. He'll be there at least once a month, with visiting chefs by his side contributing to the menus. The inaugural five-course menu features heirloom tomatoes with basil and puff pastry; organic beets, hazelnuts, watercress and mint; duck breast with summer stone fruit and chives; pulled pork ravioli with bacon-tomato jam; and foie gras torchon with angel food cake, wild strawberries and aged balsamic. Tickets are $99 per person and includes drink pairings. Reserve your space here. 6:30PM-9:30PM. (10437 Burbank Blvd.; 818-508-7008)
