| Dad will love the burger and bourbon special at Village Whiskey |
Bistro St. Tropez
At this bistro overlooking the Schuylkill, chef Patrice Rames is giving all dads an entire steak for free. The 14-oz. Black Angus rib-eye is fire-grilled and served under a bordelaise sauce with sautéed green beans, mushrooms and whipped potatoes. The deal is available during Saturday dinner (5:30-10:30 PM) or Sunday brunch (11 AM-3 PM) and is good as long as there are two or more in your party (215-569-9269).
Gypsy Saloon
The special $35 prix fixe steakhouse menu at this eclectic and colorful tavern lets everyone choose from a variety of options including a blue-cheese wedge salad, a 14-oz. prime rib and a twice-baked potato. The à la carte menu will also be available (4-9 PM; 610-828-8494).
Reserve
Dad will feel special dining beneath the grand, lofted ceilings of this Old City steakhouse, where you’ll find a 12-oz. prime rib dinner on offer for $19.95. The meat is accompanied by a giant, one-lb. baked potato and root vegetables, and after dinner, the man of the house will be presented with a complimentary glass of bourbon and a cigar (4-10 PM; 215-964-6262).
Sycamore
Sam Jacobson is firing up the grill at his Lansdowne BYO, offering a $55 three-course meal with a trio of options. After antipasto of charcuterie, cheese, roasted veggies and mixed greens, choose from a fire-licked veal chop, aged NY strip or whole lobster with corn on the cob, served with family-style truffled mashed potatoes and braised greens. Finish out the decadence with fried banana beignets for dessert (1-9 PM; 484-461-2867).
Village Whiskey
Iron Chef Jose Garces is himself a father of two, and to celebrate is offering a dad’s day deal at both the Rittenhouse and Atlantic City locations of Village Whiskey. A cool $20 brings pop the vaunted house burger along with a pour of the signature Jose Garces Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon. Add-ons (a fried egg or foie gras atop the patty, perhaps?) are available, as is the rest of the à la carte menu (Philadelphia: 215-665-1088; Atlantic City: 855-348-0500).
