First Look: Mazi Modern Greek Restaurant Opens in Notting Hill

Can't take a holiday this year? Don't worry - Greece has come to you.

Mazi - a charming modern Greek restaurant in Notting Hill - is now open with top Hellenic chefs Athinagoras Kostakos and George Venieris in the kitchen.

On the menu you'll find a selection of cold jars to start filled with traditional dishes such as diced beet root and melt-in-your-mouth goat cheese, grilled aubergine with soya and thyme honey or tzatziki with a just a pinch of garlic. For the main course, we recommend anything from light and crispy feta tempura with lemon marmalade and caper meringue, to Grand Mama's meatballs with mint and sesame dip, or herb-crusted lamb and savoury baklava made from lamb shoulder. Can't decide? Everything is served to share so gather a big group and you'll be able to try it all.

If the food and Greek wine isn't enough to transport you to the Med, then the warm interiors certainly will. White-washed walls and blue shutters remind us of Mykonos while the deli area, replete with traditional artisan produce and an open-plan kitchen, gives the feel of dining inside someone's country home.

But the absolute best part of Mazi is the beautiful back garden where you can enjoy your meal at wooden tables under a grape vine, surrounded by plants herbs and chilli,  all used to flavour the food on the table. Bon voyage!
