| The Malibu restaurant before the fire |
The LA Weekly has word that a fire at Beau Rivage closed the PCH earlier today. The restaurant - which Zagat readers say is like a "Mediterranean villa by the sea" - has been dishing up romance, cozy charm and unpretentious Mediterranean-inspired fare since 1982. According to the Los Angeles Times, new owners recently took over the property and served their first meals on Sunday night. Flames broke out on the second floor, and it took hours to douse them. Thankfully there were no injuries, but not much was salvaged after the fire. [LAW; LAT]
