If you're into Mules - we mean the cocktail made with vodka (typically), ginger beer and lime - then the Roof on Wilshire's Mule cocktail menu is a must. There's the classic vodka mule, one with tequila and cassis, and our favorite, the simple gin mule with mint and lime, all made with spicy homemade ginger beer. It's the perfect sipper on that breezy rooftop patio (one of our favorites in LA), and a great accompaniment to Eric Greenspan's chimichurri fried calamari. You like yoga, you like healthy food, you love a great gift bag, so get all three at Downward Dining on Saturday. Start with a one-hour, level-1 yoga class led by Lululemon Ambassador, Clio Manuelian, and then hit the vegetarian lunch buffet, and leave with a swag bag full of snacks, yoga gear, and beauty products. How hot can you take it? Like, 350,000 Scoville heat units hot? Once again, Chichen Itza wants to know at its annual chile-eating contest. Head down to the Mercado Paloma restaurant on Sunday, and stuff your face with habaneros. Anyone who eats the most in 20 minutes gets a $50 gift certificate. For the rest of us, there's that amazing cochinita pibil. The event is free, and registration begins at 1 PM (June 17; 3655 S. Grand Ave.; 213-741-1075).
