If you're a fan of Broadway, you've likely ducked into
Trattoria Dopo Teatro, an old-school Italian that has served heaping plates of pasta to pre-show crowds for over 20 years on West 44th Street. Well, this old-timer is dusting itself off and expanding to Midtown East, where it will open a new branch on East 62nd Street this week dubbed Dopo Teatro East. The cuisine will be the same type of red-sauce Italian, and it will be served in a 3,500 square foot space that's spread out over two floors. There's a garden for alfresco dining and a wine cellar that will double as a private party room for up to 20 people (the normal dining room can hold 70 to 80). The joint is open for dinner and Brunch - time will tell if the brand can attract a non-theatergoing crowd (345 East 62nd St.; 646-484-6548).
