Most exciting news for the former Tar Pit space on La Brea: Jason Bernstein and James Starr from
The Golden State have teamed up with Kevin Bludso from
Bludso's BBQ to open a yet-to-be-named restaurant and bar. If there was a better idea in the universe right now, we're yet to hear it. The art deco-y space will be gutted and redesigned - yes, there will be a smoker in the kitchen - and expect Bludso's Texas-style bbq, a full range of craft beers (a la Golden State) and a small list of classic cocktails. The trio hopes to open by the end of the year. The forthcoming restaurant is located at 609 N. La Brea. [
