Father's Day is coming up fast - June 17 to be exact - and most dads we know won't put up too much of a fight if you offer to take them out for a juicy steak dinner. So where to book? Read on for ratings and reviews of the city's best steakhouses. And remember, these lists are determined by your votes, so if your favorite is missing, go give it some voting love!

  1. So..interesting group. One question though, who is responsible for the over use of quotations in these five mini-reviews? It was on the "cusp" of being "obnoxious".

  2. Any list of Chicago steakhouses that does not include Gene & Georgetti is not a list of CHICAGO steakhouses. Rosebud and Gibson's, while part of mini-chains, are at least local, and not available like Morton's and Capitol Grille in almost any city you visit. And if Morton's and CG, why not the also ubiquitous Palm, Sullivan's, Flemings.

Fact is, people need something like Zagat's to find a Gene & Georgetti or an Erie Cafe. Going to one of the chains is a security blanket, and even if you try an outpost of a chain that you haven't visited elsewhere, it'll be deja vu all over again. So if the chains are going to be front and center, who needs you?

  3. Okay, this is the third time revisiting this "GAWD AWFUL" set of reviews. Who the hell was editing? Was it a "contest" to see how many "quotes" the reviewer could fit into an article? Seriously "this is a joke" right? And as far as the restaurants go..Really!?!?

  4. What's up with the "quotes"?

    1. I believe the quotes indicate extracts from actual reviewers' comments, and not something added just to accentuate certain characteristics of the restaurans.
