Caravan Draws Up at Kings Cross

Caravan, Exmouth Market
Kings Cross is rapidly becoming something of a culinary destination, and, brace yourselves, folks, because it's only going to get better. You might know Caravan in Exmouth market, the brainchild of Miles Kirby (ex-The Providores) and Chris Ammermann. Well a new Caravan is on the cards and will be taking up residence in July in the Grade II-listed Granary Building, between King’s Cross Station and St Pancras International.

The plan is for it to be part roastery/coffee bar, part all-day dining spot with 80 covers inside and 40 alfresco. Expect to see favourites on the breakfast/brunch menu from the Exmouth Market site including grilled coconut bread, strawberries and lemon curd cream cheese (£7.50); and baked eggs, tomato and pepper ragout, Greek yoghurt and chorizo (£9), as well as new dishes such as Parmesan grits, wild mushroom and wild boar sausage (£8.50); and the Hangtown Fry - a bacon and oyster omelette (£9.50). While on the all-day menu will be the likes of deep-fried oyster ‘sixes’ with lemon mayonnaise (£10); and pulled pork, sweetcorn and chilli (£12.50); as well as a small pizza selection (also available to take away) which will feature Caravan’s own mozzarella, made on site.

With cocktails, a wine list available by glass, carafe and bottle, and Prosecco on tap, the drinks options will be plentiful too, and for those who 'just want a coffee', they won't disappoint on that front with an in-house roastery that will also offer coffee-making and roasting workshops too.
Phew, with all that on offer, it's enough to make you want your train to be delayed.
