BYO Foie? A Final Farewell List and Day-After Strategies

Is it really la fin or will a loophole allow for further foie feastings?
Yep, it's five more days to foie-mageddon, but according to a just-released Bloomberg report, officials at the SFPD and the San Francisco Department of Animal Care and Control concede they don't have any plans to actually enforce the soon-to-be enacted California ban on foie gras. Aside from the lack of policing, some restaurateurs are already considering their next tactic - what they're calling "foie-kage." Diners simply show up at the restaurant with their own stash of the livery lobes (which one can still legally purchase for personal consumption) and ask the chefs to plate it.

This is the land of Prohibition after all. We won't be surprised to learn of foie gras speakeasys, secret handshakes and BYO foie supper clubs. In the meantime, those of you who want to enjoy some last-minute foie gras on the up and up, we've compiled a final list of our favorite restaurants that plan to celebrate the last days of liver. And don't forget to consult our previous rounds-ups which provides more in-depth coverage of restaurants serving farewell dinners and signature foie gras preparations.
