After five years in Beverly Hills, chocolatier Hasty Torres will close Madame Chocolat, her 5-year-old Beverly Hills boutique, this weekend. The last day is Saturday (June 30), and she's going out with a bang - get Champagne and complimentary chocolates from 10 AM to 6 PM. The closure is partially because the lease was up and she wants to find a new location, and also because she's ready to start a family. While she plans to relocate to possibly Santa Monica or West Third Street, Torres will spend the next few months in New York with her husband, master pastry chef Jacques Torres. Madame Chocolate goodies will still be available online. [Via LAT]
Eater reports that Doughboys Bakery, the standalone bakery and retail shop just a cupcake's throw from the original Doughboys Cafe, closed this weekend. Get your red velvet cake fix at the West Third Street cafe.
