Best Thing We Ate This Weekend: The Spice Table's Chile Prawns

While chef Bryant Ng was off celebrating his Food & Wine Best New Chef nod in Aspen this weekend, we were sitting at the bar of The Spice Table demolishing plates of grilled bone marrow and bowls of laksa. No matter what we're in the mood for when we go there, the first thing we do is order a few satays. Partially because they're grilled right in front of us (we love sitting at the bar), and also because they're a great way to kick your taste buds into gear for the wave of spice about to come. The chile-rubbed prawns are one of our favorites, a delicious mess of a dish - peel and eat is never graceful - with a nice kick and char that beckons for a cold beer. Then again, picking a favorite dish at Spice Table is like picking your favorite child: impossible. The Little Tokyo restaurant is located at 114 South Central Avenue.
