The Best Thing We Ate This Week: Horenso (Spinach) Salad at Chisou

Spinach salad might sound like a bland choice - not at Chisou. The authentic Japanese restaurant with three branches around London is almost as well known for this simple, but effective salad as its top quality sushi.

Dark green baby spinach leaves are topped with spicy prawn tempura and a touch of grated sweet carrot and then drizzled with yuzu vinaigrette. It sounds simple, but each flavour and texture brings out the best in the rest of the dish: the zingy vinaigrette gives the spinach leaves a kick, while the crunchy prawns and carrots perfectly compliment the slippery texture of the salad itself.

Can't get enough? They also sell the dressing by the bottle for those who want to try and replicate the dish at home.
