During Saturday and Sunday brunch, you can't get near West Village hot spot Cafe Cluny, (without waiting at least 60 minutes at peak hours) but on weekdays, the joint is practically a den of serenity compared to some of the rowdier dining options nearby. While the restaurant's take on Franco-American fare includes classic bistro items like steak frites and frisee and lardon salad, we've always been a big fan of their all-American burger. An 8 oz. all-natural beef patty is cooked to order and served atop a toasted sesame seed bun and your choice of cheese. (We also opted for bacon, natch.) The crispy bistro-style fries make the perfect accoutrement, or you can be healthy and get it with mixed greens instead (boring!). Cafe Cluny is located at 284 W. 12th Street.
