While typically we won't go near meat substitutes, the vegetarian ham bao prepared by Baohaus' Eddie Huang took us by surprise. The texture and flavor weren't off putting, salty or overly smoky (as is the case with most fake meat products), and the "ham" was complemented well by the fried tofu skin, crunchy peanuts and fresh cilantro. Vegetarians proved appreciative of the offering, and crazily enough, the carnivores in the room seemed to enjoy it just as much.
