The Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Taboon's Crab Salad

Hell's Kitchen restaurant Taboon is one of our favorite neighborhood gems - even though it's tucked away on 10th Avenue, the warm vibe and excellent Middle Eastern-inspired Mediterrenean fare consistently pack the dining room. On a hot summer day, you might not want to be weighed down by the special breads that come out of the eatery's namesake oven. Instead, try the seasonal crab salad, which is one of the best summer dishes we had in recent memory.

The dish is deceptively simple, huge and flavorful chunks of crab, a few leafy greens and some tomato. But, it doesn't need any bells and whistles to stand out as the perfect warm-weather plate. Enjoy it with a glass of crisp white wine and you'll see why people trek over past the popular strips of Hell's Kitchen to frequent this joint.
