7 Food Flicks at Silverdocs Film Festival

Manufactured Fortunes: a batter-to-table study of fortune cookies
Food is on the menu at Silverdocs, a premier documentary festival happening June 18-24 in Silver Springs at the historic AFI Silver Theatre and several other locations. Seven of the 114 festival films will explore a wide range of food-related subjects including: a batter-to-table study of Chinese fortune cookies (Manufactured Fortunes); a year in the life of the chef/son of a famed toque (Step Up to the Plate); and the story of Maine dairy farmers who fought back when their livelihood was threatened by a national milk company (Betting the Farm). When flicks about food make your tummy rumble, here are some nearby dining options: 8407 Kitchen, Jackie’s, Olazzo, Pacci’s, Ray's the Classics.
