LA's 5 Best Pizza Spots

Is Gjelina's pizza the best?
We're kicking off our inaugural Pizza Week with what we think is a most controversial list: the five best pizzas in LA, as determined by votes in our most recent survey. There are an endless array of variations - thick or thin crust? Tomato sauce or white pizza? Vegetables or meat? Wood-fired or brick-oven? It's a worthy (and constant) debate as to who serves the best. Out of these five, did your favorites rise to the top? If not, raise your voice!

Let us know your thoughts on Google+ and Twitter by using the hashtag #PizzaWeek, and check out all of our Pizza Week coverage here.

  1. I dont understand why Olio Pizzeria is not among the top 5 when Zagat guide for 2012 places it it in the top 5

  2. How come there's nothing in the San Fernando Valley? We're in the Santa Clarita Valley and it's a wasteland for pizza up here!

    1. You are absolutely right! 14 years in the Santa Clarita Valley and not one good slice. For that matter, I don't know of a good pizza in the San Fernando Valley, which has become more, not less, of a restaurant wasteland in recent years.

  3. I'm pretty certain that Pace on Laurel Canyon is in the SF Valley. Plus the spots in Hollywood aren't that much farther.

    1. PACE is definitely not in SFV but Los Angeles (Laurel Canyon/Hollywood)
      .
Maybe you're thinking of CAIOTI on Tujunga Avenue in Tujunga Village, Studio City/Valley Village area? CAIOTI's original location (20 yrs ago) is where Pace is now.
