Clinton Street just got a new Chinese restaurant in the form of Yunnan Kitchen, which opened yesterday in the space that used to house Falai Panetteria space on Clinton Street. The new eater takes its culinary inspiration from the namesake region, which incorporates influences from countries like Vietnam, Laos and the Sichuan province of China into its fare. Here, guests can expect moderately-priced wood ear mushrooms with celery, gingko, and lily bulbs (flower alert!). The 60-seater has exposed brick walls and is decked out with Chinese jewelry and the spot is only serving dinner for now. It opened yesterday, check it out at 79 Clinton Street (212-253-2527).
