Reynards, the new restaurant in the Wythe Hotel that's helmed by Andrew Tarlow of Marlow and Sons. When we dropped by the other night for a drink, the bar, which is right off the entry way of the hotel, was way crowded, so we decided to hit up the roof deck that we'd been hearing about for a beverage. Though no one is talking about this sixth floor space, once you step onto the gigantic outdoor terrace, you'll see that this watering hole is the true gem of this new property. After Hotel Williamsburg and its rooftop lounge quickly fizzled, Billyburg was left wanting for a sky high drinking spot. Well, this joint is surely it, and it will likely become crazily popular as more and more residents find out about it.
In addition to the roof deck, there is a sizable and dimly lit interior for the cooler days which contains a long bar, plenty of table seating in the darkened corners and a large pub height table where drinkers can stand and congregate over a few brews. The drinks are reasonably priced and there is a selection of house cocktails, but most folks in the crowd seemed to be drinking tall boys of brew. When combined with the view, the space makes for an awesome hangout on sunny days. Even better, you can go downstairs for dinner (or wait here for your table to come up), sweet (80 Wythe Ave.).
