Sausagefest and a Celebration of Cheese in Chicago

This weekend is full of festivities. From the king of sausage to a day devoted to cheese, Chicago has a lot to look forward to - and eat.

Meet the Market
Tonight at The Bedford, Green City Market’s Junior Board welcomes its newest member, Mark Steuer of Seedling Fruit. Strawberries, rhubarb and basil star in complimentary passed appetizers and cocktails made with Few Spirits ($8, with $6 benefiting Green City Market).

Welcome to festival season! Start it off right by crowning the king of Sausagefest. The two-day meat extravaganza kicks off Saturday, and proceeds benefit the prostate cancer foundation. In addition to sausages from five different vendors, there will be live music.

Cheese Day
Monday is National Cheese Day, and Bin 36 is offering its chef’s choice selection for $20 (regularly $25). The cheesy goodness does not end there; guests can try complimentary samples at pop-up stations or impromptu tableside tastings. Specially priced cheese flights will also be available.

More Cheese Offerings
Now that we have solid chesses covered for Monday's celebrations, time to move onto melted chesses at Geja’s CafĂ©. The June winemaker’s dinner on Monday features Oregon’s Argyle Winery paired with a four-course prix fixe dinner for $55.
