"It's very sad that an event that celebrates the very best of athletic achievements should be sponsored by companies contributing to the obesity problem and unhealthy habits."
-Terence Stephenson, a spokesperson for the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges, complaining that McDonald's is sponsoring the London Olympic games while promoting unhealthy lifestyles. The chain will have a restaurant in the Olympic Village and will be able to sell grub that's features their branding and logo, something that no other company is allowed to do. They paid a pretty penny to have these rights. Is that acceptable, or should the Golden Arches be banned from sports sponsorships until they start serving protein shakes and kale? [Huff Post]

Honestly, what company has the global audience and the means to spend the dollars required to be an Olympic sponsor? My thoughts here: http://bit.ly/KOyL5r
