In the meantime, the Ashmont Grill, a neighborhood American in Dorchester, is celebrating the future of this nonprofit market with an “eat local” fund-raising garden party on its back patio on June 3. Chef John Rush will create hors d’oeuvres using produce and eggs donated by Red Fire Farm. Creative cocktails and Harpoon beer will also be served (5-7 PM; tickets are $45 purchased in advance; $50 at the door; a $150 VIP ticket includes a chef demo with Ashmont Grill’s chef-owner Chris Douglass, a $25 gift card to Ashmont Grill and a goodie bag; 617-997-8669).
