Ninth Avenue Openings: Noodies, Kahve and Mickey Spillane's All Open

The food-and-drink-laden Ninth Avenue corridor of Hell's Kitchen is even more filled to the brim with bars and restaurants after three recent openings. Noodies, the most Uptown of the three, proves there's always room for another Thai joint on this strip. It is dishing out brothy bowls of noodle soups brimming with ingredients like shrimp balls and fried eggs. The tiny space should prove a popular alternative for diners who don't wan to brave the epic waits at nearby Totto Ramen. It's currently open at 840 Ninth Ave.

A few doors down from that is the new coffee joint Kahve, which we alerted you to a few weeks ago. This java joint should please those who have bemoaned the closing of Coffee Pot, leaving the surrounding area without a non-chain option. Baked goods are sold alongside coffee roasts from exotic locales like Cuba and Turkish - the spot actually takes its name from the turkish word for coffee. Get more info here (774 Ninth Ave.).

Finally, speaking of The Coffee Pot, the bar that took over that space at 350 W 49th St. is now open. A Buzz Agent tells us the space is dubbed Mickey Spillane's and is run-of-the-mill pub that should please bar goers hopping around this area, where Irish bars are popular. The space reportedly rushed to open in time for the Ninth Avenue food fair this weekend, so expect some touch ups to the decor as they play catch up over the next few days.
