Up in the Fleetwood, just South of Pondfield Road in Bronxville is an Italian restaurant that needs to be on this list.
ReplyDeleteBuona Sera is a wonderful, tasty, cozy yet upscale Italian restaurant now pleasing their customers for 8 years. Voted Westchesters Best Italian restaurant in 2011.

ReplyDeleteIn Astoria Queens there is a relatively new place Ornella Trattoria that I would keep under the radar.
ReplyDeleteFor Italian with aspicy Mexican flourish try Miranda Restaurant in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Foodies know it already.
ReplyDeleteFor Italian food in Williamsburg try out PT Restaurant. Cozy environment with a nice garden space in the summer, excellent quality food and the service is always great in my experience.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Il Vagabondo on East 61st Street between 2nd & 1st avenues? Doesn't get anymore authentic then having their own indoor bocci court + the food is great!
ReplyDeleteWHEN is Zagat going to venture out to Bayridege Brooklyn to visit GINO'S (5th Ave. & 74th Street) The food is great, the decor original & the wait staff friendly/professional. They now take reservations so the long waits can be reduced/eliminated.

DeleteI grew up in Brookyn and was taught the old school way of cooking REAL Italian food by my mother in law who was the best cook in creation. I have been to the holiest holes in the wall to the most expensive city restaurants and none of them are better than Carlo's on Tuckahoe Road and Central Avenue in Yonkers. They've been there like 50 years. The bread tastes like no other. Every single dish is amazing. They give you portions to feed an army and the prices are ridiculous...low that is. I don't know how they do it. I am a forever fan.
ReplyDeletesomeone needs to try Ponte Vecchio in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Old restaurant that reopened with new owners about two years ago. Food Fab.
