Nantucket Wine Festival, May 16-20, an unforgettable five days of tasting, dining, learning, cooking demos and meeting chefs and winemakers from Nantucket's back yard and from around the world.
Upwards of 200 wineries, dozens of celebrity chefs, food samples and tastings make up the wine and food extravaganza.
While winemaker dinners will take place in various venues and private homes around the island, The White Elephant Hotel will play host to the festival’s many parties, including The Harbor Gala, the Celebrity Chef and Winemaker Auction Dinners, and the majority of the wine and food seminars. The Grand Tasting, the festival’s signature event, will be held at the historic Nantucket Yacht Club.
Among the highlights are “The Greatest Chef You Never Heard Of” seminar by Damon Baehrel, of the Basement Bistro in Earlton, NY, and the return of Island Creek Oysters, a Duxbury-based oyster grower and purveryor to many Boston chefs (not to mention the eponymous resto Island Creek Oyster Bar).
