LA Market Restaurant Partners With Regal Cinemas for Dinner and a Movie

Coordinating dinner and a movie in one evening can be a costly hassle, especially if they’ve got nothing to do with each other, but LA Market Restaurant by Kerry Simon has joined forces with Regal Cinemas across the street for a three-course dinner and movie special for $30 (or $20 for children). The meal is available from 5:30-10PM and includes two choices for each course: the entrée options are broiled farm-raised chicken breast with purple pee wee potatoes, roasted shallots and red flame grapes or bucatini primavera with shaved parmesan and edamame.

The special is active through Labor Day Weekend, but there are a couple of small catches to consider. Extra fees do apply for premiere cinema movies and 3D feature films (which is pretty much every movie out these days, it seems), and the promotion doesn’t guarantee entry to a sold-out flick, so this deal is probably best for diners who don’t have their heart on seeing The Amazing Spider-Man or The Dark Knight Rises on the first night.

Of course, for the true couch potatoes, the next question that begs to be asked is: when will the food of schmancy restaurants be available in one’s movie theater seat? That’s a three-dimensional experience we can embrace.
